教育背景与工作经历：
1983年本科毕业于山西农业大学；
1986年-1992年在北京农业大学分别获得理学硕士及理学博士学位；
1986-1993年在北京农业大学植保系任助教、讲师；
1993-2001年在中国农科院生物防治研究所任助研（93-95）、副研究员、副所长（95-97）、研究员（2000）；
1997-1999年在明尼苏达大学从事博士后研究；
2001-2019年在中国科学院微生物所任研究员、真菌地衣系统学院重点实验室主任（2001-2010）、真菌学国家重点实验室主任（2010-2017）；
2020年至今在南开大学生命科学学院微生物学系任教授。
研究成果：
从事真菌学研究40余年，在真菌分类、真菌生存策略及适应性进化机制及线虫生物防治方面取得了系统性进展。发起并创办了国内首个真菌学国际刊物《Mycology》（Francis & Taylor出版集团）。2014年应邀在第十届国际菌物学大会作大会特邀报告，作为中国菌物学会第五届理事会理事长，提出“学术交流、科学普及、人才培养、产业发展”的学会宗旨，发起“尊重科学、利好产业”的菌物产业专题技术论坛。
